Meet Tawna Ashcroft, the Woodland Witch — keeper of the forest floor and guardian of the in-between places. While others seek power in towers of stone or halls of learning, Tawna found hers in the quiet dark beneath the canopy, where mushrooms glow at midnight and the bark of ancient oaks holds older spells than any grimoire.
Legend says Tawna was once a wandering herbalist who followed a wounded fox deep into a forest that had no name on any map. She walked for three days and three nights, and when she finally stopped, the forest had claimed her — not as a prisoner, but as its own. The trees bent toward her. The soil remembered her footsteps. She never left, and the forest never let her go.
Draped in robes the colour of autumn earth — tawny ochre, burnt umber, and the deep brown of turned soil — Tawna moves through the world like a shadow between the trees. She is neither cruel nor kind; she is the forest itself, and the forest simply is.
