Hraef: Sole Sentinel Growing Rusty Without Challenge

Hraef is the sole sentinel for Klan Hoek-ud-Rhodda, a capable guardian whose skills are growing rusty from lack of proper martial challenge. Despite being the only sentinel for his clan, he's skilled enough to justify an entire Guard on some days—though his joints are showing signs of wear from not having proper combat to keep him sharp. As the lone protector of his people, Hraef maintains his vigilance even as the quiet days stretch on, waiting for the challenge that will test whether his abilities remain as formidable as they once were.

The Land of Odd

Hraef exists in the richly imagined Land of Odd, a world inspired by Brian Froud's Podlings from The Dark Crystal. Unlike the earthy tones of Podlings, the Oddlings celebrate a kaleidoscope of colors and diverse personalities. The Land is home to diverse communities—from Desert-dwellers to Underwolders, Aeyriekin to Swamplings, Oceanics to Forestkind—each with their own cultures, beliefs, and traditions.

The Craft

Each Hraef marionette is handmade in Australia by The Squeaking Tribe, featuring a sculpted clay head with hand-painted details, a unique Desert-dweller sentinel costume made from specialty fabrics and collected materials, and professional 6-string marionette controls. Standing 25cm tall (60cm when strung) and weighing 0.6kg, each piece is unique with its own story told through carefully chosen textiles, jewelry, and distinctive details.
