Day-of-the-Dead Señorita - Marionette Puppet
Celebrate life, death, and everything in between!
The Mexican festival of Día de los Muertos is a vibrant celebration honouring the dead, and its striking aesthetic has captivated the West in recent years. Popularised through animated films like "The Book of Life" and "Coco," the bold colours and intricate patterns of traditional Day of the Dead art have woven their way into costume culture, tattoo work, and contemporary design.
Originally created in 2012 as boutique merchandise for Australian singer-songwriter Kasey Chambers, our DOTD Mariachis and Señoritas showcase a stunning range of colours and textiles as diverse as the festival itself. The Mariachis wear hats specifically designed and crafted for us in Mexico to maintain authentic cultural integrity, while the Señoritas sport a dazzling array of flowers, lace, and jewellery that would make Frida Kahlo swoon!
What Makes This Special:

- Unique colour and textile combinations - no two exactly alike

- Doll form: approximately 25cm tall

Cultural Creations: History and Mythology collide in the Crucible of World Culture!
From the Dawn of Time, humankind has strived to understand its place in the Universe through story, philosophy, language, technology and the Arts. Through the eras, every civilisation, big or small, has developed tools to understand the world around them and from their recorded Lore have we found a seemingly endless wellspring of inspiration with which to hone our skills in textiles and costuming. The multi-faceted pageantry of our ancestral roots is celebrated here!
