The Squeaking Tribe

Ghostface – Killer “Scream” Marionette Puppet

Description

In 1996, director Wes Craven brought to the big screen a new horror icon in the shadowy form of the Ghostface killer and at the same time began an enduring series of films which rewrote the familiar tropes of Slasher films for a whole new generation of horror fans.

Originally inspired by the haunting face in Edward Munch's painting "The Scream", both images have cried out for a design in marionette form and at last we are happy to present him here in a limited edition of four. Varying layers of black fabrics help provide a stark background for the iconic mask which floats disembodied and menacing from any darkened corner you might display him, the hunting knife which marks his modus operandi being the only other visual point of reference. Creepy, cool and fun in all the worst possible ways.

And what’s better than creating such a visual icon of horror? Sharing it with other appreciative horror aficionados such as yourself.

Halloween Horror Show: Frightening can be fun!

It’s no surprise that many people find marionettes creepy or scary, no matter how cute you try to make them. And so it is with no small relish that I find myself indulging the darker side of story and my own fascination with the macabre in creating a range of puppets to celebrate the shadows and the sinister. Here, horror icons from the silver screen rub shoulders with other things of nightmare in a grand monster mash of ghoulish celebration. Enter if you dare – here there be monsters!

Marionette in doll form is approximately 25cm in height or 60cm when strung.
